The author table mad me laugh. I stopped doing random signings early in my career. Unless I was there to do a reading too, it was a waste of time and eventually I stopped doing bookstores when I would get invited to libraries, universities and other venues that paid my expenses and an honorarium. There was almost always a good audience.
